Our mental wellbeing is just as important
as our physical. It’s easy to dismiss feeling
down or being forgetful as being ‘all in your
mind’. If you or someone you care for has
symptoms of depression or is increasingly
forgetful tell someone about it.
Depression: A staggering 20% of people in the UK
suffer from some form of depression. This is not
just feeling sad or upset, but an intense feeling of
persistent sadness, helplessness and hopelessness often
accompanied by physical effects such as sleeplessness,
a loss of energy, or physical aches and pains.
Dementia: This is a term used to describe various
different brain disorders that have in common a
loss of brain function that is usually progressive and
eventually severe.
